Scope (Target audience) :This course provides awareness of the issues
created by volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions on board a crude oil
tanker. This course complies with the latest VOC training requirements in MEPC .1/Circ.
680, Section 6 where a training program is to be provided for the person in
charge of the VOC management plan on board each ship.
Objective :This course has been developed in response to
recent amendments to MARPOL Annex VI requiring tankers carrying crude to have
and implement an administration approved VOC management plan. The course covers
the purpose of the plan and the principles of control, monitoring and recording
VOC release.
