Scope (Target Audience) :This course provides
training to the navigating officers in sound manoeuvring techniques, principles
and an opportunity to handle large ships in various conditions on a
simulator. To develop and improve understanding of principles of ship
handling with emphasis on using/controlling main engine, rudder, thrusters,
efficient use of tugs and improve skills in handling Large ships under various
conditions such as weather/ current, manoeuvring in ports and restricted waters
on Navigational Bridge Simulator. This course is designed for masters and chief
officers including junior officers who are joining large ships i.e. VLCCs,
VLOCs, VLGC, ULCS.
