Scope (Target audience) : This course has been designed to meet the
requirements of STCW Regulation I/12, Sections A-III/1&2 and
A&B-VIII/2.This course is intended for engineering officers at both the
management and operational level. On completion of this course the participant
will be able to demonstrate sufficient knowledge of resource management,
leadership and teamwork to fulfil the requirements of Sections A-III/1 and
A-III/2 of STCW 1978, as amended.
Objective :
Working knowledge of shipboard personnel management,
including human error, cross cultural awareness, situational awareness, complacency andteamwork.
Ability to apply task and workload management.
Knowledge of and ability to apply effective resource management.
Knowledge of and ability to apply decision making
techniques.
Knowledge of international maritime conventions,
recommendations and national legislations.
